Alternate irons increasingly American-Made

For generations, alternate irons have served as a substitute for prime grades in North America’s blast furnace complexes and electric arc furnaces. But up until comparatively recent times, alternate irons were typically sourced from foreign suppliers: pig iron from Brazil and Russia, direct reduced iron from Trinidad, and hot briquetted iron from northern Europe.
