Low-alloy punchings scrap metal prices

By adding particular alloys during the creation of steel, low-alloy steels possess specific chemical compositions and provide better mechanical properties than many conventional mild or carbon steels. These steels then commence through the production line to become whatever product they were designed for. Punching scrap is created when a punch press punches a hole through a material working into the die. As the hole is created, the scrap piece is collected into the die where it is then taken to be recycled, remelted or discarded. Punching is often the most inexpensive method for creating holes when used in a medium to high volume production process. 

Low alloy punchings are defined as containing a maximum of 0.40-percent manganese and a maximum chromium content of 0.05-0.06 percent. All low alloy punchings materials are cut to 12 inches and under and specified by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.
